Hi! I’m Leslie. I’m 24, I live in Manhattan, and I write this blog. [For more about the blog, click here.]
Some rather irrelevant personal background:
- I didn’t eat a single fruit or vegetable before the age of seventeen.
- I am a 100% urban girl and can’t imagine living outside a city again. The exception occurs in the summer, when I rekindle my fiery love affair with the beach.
- I have an incredible family. I live with my older sister, my parents have been happily married for more than thirty years, and hanging out as a foursome is one of my very favorite activities. [I also learned my love of food from their example, and sharing wine and a meal, whether at a gourmet restaurant or home-cooked by my mom, is one of our classic family pastimes.]
- I adore wine. And dark, bitter chocolate. And black coffee.
- I lived in Prague for a year after college, following a semester there and another in London. Living, working, and traveling abroad transformed my views on the world and will always be a priority in my life.
- I graduated from NYU, where I designed my own major. This means that I cannot participate in most conversations about college life. But, you know, my dorm room had a dishwasher, and I wore dresses to 8AM classes.
- I work at a performing arts center in the city. I get to write every day and am lucky to have a job I truly enjoy.
- Fresh produce is my favorite thing to spend money on, closely followed by vintage clothing and decor.
- I’m a work-in-progress, and I like it that way.

Hi- I just stumbled on your blog, but I feel the same about yoga.. Being super injury prone has been a big obstacle in my love for running, and honestly I don’t know what I would have done if I hadn’t discovered yoga. You have a good outlook on life!
