On Thursday, I met up with three lovely NYC bloggers for dinner at Blossom, a higher-end vegan restaurant I’ve been dying to try.
appetizer: raw sweet potato rolls with almond-ginger dipping sauce
The food was certainly my style. I got my essential glass of wine and my equally essential vegetables. Sometimes, I think that is all I need in life – aside from perhaps oatmeal and sandy beaches.
entree: refreshing salad with grilled pears, caramelized walnuts, tofu croutons, and lime dressing. enjoyable, but i have to say, i wish there had been more pears and tofu.
Beyond the food, however, the company was even better. Conversation flowed around the table for over two hours. I loved seeing my twin Danielle, I loved meeting Jamie and Ada, and I loved our nonstop chatting.
I really can’t express how wonderful it is to meet other bloggers. I’m actually a very reserved person, but it’s amazing how comfortable you can feel with people you meet through the internet. Don’t be shy! I think we’re all looking for other people to connect with, no matter where we are in life.
Happy weekend, everyone! I have Monday off, so the fun is just beginning.
When was the last time you met someone new?

Great blogger meet-up! Those sweet potato rolls look and sound heavenly! Last time I met someone new was when I met Shelley from Finding Happiness and Health! We had a great time :-D
Have a wonderful weekend Leslie!
Oh, so glad you ladies had a good time at Blossom. The food looks beautiful! I love that place when I have the extra $$$ to spend. Jamie and Ada are lovely gals, indeed.
The last time I met someone new was while in Montauk a couple of weeks ago. I actually met a bunch of people in one day, which is nice, but one in particular where a little romantic frisson occurred. Still waiting to see how it pans out…:)
Looks like a fun (and delicious!) meet-up. I’ve met a few online friends in person and they’ve all been really lovely and genuine people. Some people are still weirded out by meeting people online but it’s the 21st century — get used to it! ;)

your pics look great!! i agree, i think we are all looking to connect to other people, and finding people who value the same things as you do is pretty darn special. It was SO great to spend time with you finally and I will see you next weekend! :)
that looks like a blast!
I’m so intrigued by the raw sweet potato rolls, by the way. I would totally order that app!
This is beautiful. NYC, restaurants, friends…beautiful.
That salad is kinda sad. It sounds great, but you’re right, it could use less greens and more delicious toppings. Raw sweet potato? Wonder what that tastes like?
I wish I could have joined you guys! Love blogger meet-ups. I had my last meet-up about a month ago!
I am having a blogger meet up tomorrow. I have already met one of them on a number of occasions but not the other one. I am pretty excited, we are going to a cooking demonstration!

That food looked amazing! I’ve always wanted to go to a REAL vegan restaraunt! And it’d be soooo cool to meet up with some of the people I’ve met here…you all seem so nice and wonderful…I’m glad it was so much fun!
Hmm, let’s see…The last time I met someone new was in the blogosphere, but actually meeting in person would probably have to be at school and during track practice. I am now friends with the two german foreign-exchange students Ines and anna. They’re really nice!
‘Blossom’ sounds superb! I’m so glad you enjoyed the blogger meet-up. Have a great day Leslie.
It was so great meeting you as well! Sorry if I seemed a little quiet, I just had a really bad headache and was feeling dizzy for some weird reason. I look forward to seeing you at the blogger brunch:)
