I received a lovely package over the weekend:
Thanks to my Blogger Secret Santa, I am now the proud owner of a jar of maple butter.
It’s hard to believe, but there was a time where I was a staunch Mrs. Butterworth’s user. Now, of course, I love the real stuff, and this is a fun new way to enjoy what could possibly be my favorite natural sweetener. Thus far, I’ve determined it to be an ideal companion to both crunchy apples and pumpkin oatmeal. Thanks so much to Susan for the gift!
On the other end, I’ve got my home-baked gifts all ready to be wrapped up.
And I’ve sent out a blogger gift of my own – can’t reveal the contents just yet though.
My sister, however, can’t keep secrets, so I’ve learned that I’ll soon be receiving a new yoga mat from her. Mine is in a disastrous state, and it may or may not leave a trail of stray turquoise foam all around our apartment, no matter how tidy I attempt to be.
I also gave myself a couple gifts. Sometimes that’s necessary.
And I received a delicious homemade gift [over lunch at the Candle Cafe, no less]. My friend made caramel popcorn from scratch – impressive, no?
It’s shaping up to be a tasty time of year. As if these packages weren’t enough, I’ve got quite the week of foodie adventures ahead. Plus lots of time with friends and family – I can’t wait!
What have you given and received so far this holiday season?

Great gift idea for your secret santa! I sent mine a package from foozie.com – which is like etsy but with food. I never knew it existed!
Beautiful. Not only are you an inspiring writer, but you are also an inspiring photographer. The maple butter was such a beautiful gift. Sounds great with oatmeal or anything.
Candle Cafe, I have heard of. I live in Canada though, too bad. I often feel I was born into the wrong life, country, everything
I haven’t given much yet (little packages from bath&body works to people at work), but I recieved and AWESOME vegetarian cookbook that I’m excited to try out. One of my goals over this break is to experiment with different foods, some outside of my comfort zone.
I will admit all these posts by various bloggers have definitely inspired me to do some baking for this holiday season. LOL
Good look sending your wonderful baked goods, I can only hope mine come out as delish looking (and I’m sure they taste even better lol)

YAY!!! You got it!!! I’ve been secretly lurking on your blog ever since I found out I was your secret santa. I thought it would be more of a “surprise” that way
Funny, I thought it would be a perfect pairing for your oatmeal and fruit too. I think it would be delicious on salmon as well. Enjoy!!
