in costume.

Apologies for the lack of post yesterday!  I’m shoulder deep in attempts to reorganize my life / find some sense of direction, and as those goals are lofty, they are also time-consuming.

Thankfully, Halloween is just days away, an occasion ideal for indulging my stylistic needs.  Being a twentysomething might be a struggle, but I can, at the least, feel accomplished in putting together a perfectly excessive holiday look.

For some reason, I am struggling to decide on my costume for this year, and I keep postponing my thrift shop visit due to indecision.  Or procrastination.  [I'm the best procrastinator].  I never go for chilling masks or displays of skin, but I am striving for something with exaggerated flair.  Hopefully I’ll be struck with inspiration by Saturday.

Some costume-inspired selections:

Queen jack-o-lantern, Leslie-style. [No knifework required - I'd never butcher something I can eat!]

Salads get dressed up too [tahini, balsamic vinegar, lemon juice, s+p].

Cauliflower masquerading as sweet Indian rice.

Costume jewelry, though I need no costume as an excuse.

What are you planning to be for Halloween?
