This past weekend, one of my very best friends got married.
Sara and I have known each other since middle school, and we were part of an incredible group of high school friends, who I am lucky to still call my friends today. Her wedding was not only a celebration of her new life, but a wonderful opportunity for all of us to reunite.
There was more than enough food at the reception, and while the offerings were not my usual style, it didn’t matter much. Truthfully, I was far too busy loving life to pay much mind to the food selection. Some events are like that.
I did, of course, eat, but my time was better spent gazing at the beautiful bride:
And the gorgeous autumn-inspired decór (the family did every detail themselves, and it was beautiful):
And scenery:
Tearing up the dance floor:
Drinking wine and giving my champagne toast:
Performing bridesmaid duties, like looking pretty:
Catching up with old friends (including the crazies in the background):
Being fed cake:
With my bridesmaid responsibilities distracting me, I didn’t get a photo of the Indian dish, bhel puri, that was part of the cocktail hour hors d’oeuvres selection. It was so delicious, however, that I will be recreating it as soon as the couple returns from their honeymoon and I can acquire some instructions. Stay tuned for a recipe – it’s vegan.

Mostly though, this day was all about the beauty. I don’t feel old enough or nearly ready enough to be at the marital stage of life – and I’m ok with that. But sharing in Sara and Dilip’s day was one of the most special occasions I have ever been lucky enough to participate in. Lots and lots of love and happiness to them both.
Whose was the last wedding you attended?

I love weddings, the bride does look beautiful and so does the dress.
I forgot to add, I went to my cousin’s wedding a few weeks ago (I posted about it) it was a lovely day and a great chance to see all the family again. We don’t all get together until the holidays.

I love weddings!! I especially love the Fall decorations in this one!
Awww! I’m not really a weddings person but there’s nothing like the bonds you have with a best friend, especially when they get married. I can totally tell you were having an amazing time! Can’t wait till that vegan recipe!

Love Indian weddings! The food… oh my gosh the food. (Ditto the music, the festivity, and the gossip.) :)

Good to know you too. All the very best in life.
I love the bride’s color scheme, especially the red embellishments on her wedding dress. I wish I had seen that dress six years ago! My wedding was in fall as well.
