Can you remember the old Skittles commercials? The originals to employ the famed slogan, showering the actors with a rain of rainbow candy, circa 1994? I was never an enthusiast of the faux-fruity treats, yet I couldn’t help but appreciate the vibrancy of those colors on my television screen. Though I then preferred chocolatey M&Ms, I had to be jealous that my packets included a muddy brown, rather than the rich pink or violet of my friends’ candy.
These days, of course, I have nothing to envy. I just get my rainbow in a bit of a different manner.
End of the rainbow: avocado, blueberries, plum.
And the start: bell pepper, carrot, yellow tomato, cucumber.
Color duets: red chard, nectarine, cranberry beans.
Scarves: preparation for fall.
Bright in color and flavor: sweet potato, baby eggplant, chard.
Dried spices: chili powder, turmeric, mustard, parsley, hibiscus.
Rainbow salad: red pepper, shaved carrot, golden zucchini, baby spinach, avocado, eggplant.
What makes up your rainbow?

What beautiful pictures! Hooray for colorful fruits and veggies, much better than those skittles of our past :)
First of all, I just love your images each and every post–even if I don’t comment.
My rainbow would be hard to figure out, as it would probably be mostly green :) However, I always make rainbow salads with tons of greens, red pepper, carrots, squash, corn, shrooms and whatever else I can find. So colorful and so delicious!
That spices photo is just breathtaking. I love salads with as many colors as possible, and soon making soup with fun colored veggies like purple cauliflower. I think I feel a carrot or cauliflower curry soup coming on for the weekend!
I like your rainbow much better than the skittles rainbow.
Absolutely beautiful.
My rainbow is displayed in lots of different colored paper for book arts this fall. I’m excited.

I make rainbow salad all the time, it’s so fun and so easy! I just add whatever I had in fridge and try to use as many color as I can. :D
It’s funny that when I reviewed the ‘Weekly Menu’ I had months ago, I coded my veg not by name but by their colors. :P
Yellow is a standard – kabocha!
Ah – I just posted a beautiful picture of some local corn… Fit for a rainbow!

Gorgeous! Absolutely stunning. One of my favorite parts of eating healthy: the colorful meals. I actually hate eating a colorless, or all-brown meal…or all white! Unless its dark chocolate :) But I’d say: strawberries, peaches, bananas, romaine hearts, blueberries, plums, and nuts/dark choc. are my faves!
The first picture is gorg! The avocado practically looks like ice cream!
I used to love the skittles commercial but hated skittles. I’ll take a rainbow salad over skittles any day
Certainly is a rainbow of colour.
This is one of my favorite posts. I can’t stop looking at all of the colors and arrangements. Beautiful.
