I don’t know about you, but where I am right now, it is hot. The air is full, not only with ferocious sunlight and warmth, but with a weighty dampness. Exiting my apartment is not a release into summer freshness, but more of a smoggy sauna.
Oddly, I kind of love it. I really adore the heat, and I’ll take this sweaty weather over ice and frigid snow any day. I just have to employ a few tools to conquer the humidity:

Watermelon – is there a single more hydrating fruit?

Cucumber – equally as refreshing.

Fans of any sort. [this one: authentic Spanish, from Seville]

Raw-ish food. [raw eggplant + hummamole stacks]

Sunglasses and silk scarves – protective and cooling.

Smoothies – the essence of summer.
What helps you brave the heat?

I feel you on the hotness :) I rather be sweltering hot than cold any day!
You remind me that I haven’t had watermelon in forever!
I love warm weather, too!
Definitely watermelon helps in the heat.
I never would have thought of raw eggplant, I love it grilled/roasted too much! I did a similar thing as your stacks with grilled eggplant and hummus rolled up, it is delicious!
Yum! Looks good – one question – is that my straw on the dirty steps? :)
I am so cold right now it’s not even funny… I am sitting here with no less than 3 sweatshirts on! Beat the heat- iced coffee, homemade “frappuccinos”, cool showers…
I didn’t know you could eat raw eggplant!
Cucumber and water melon totally sum up summer food ( and ice lollies of course :) ) I love driving around in my car, with the seats full of my best friends, the windows down and summer music blaring out of the speakers. Of course we stop at the beach and run into the sea :)
I am also a hot weather kinda gal and watermelon is by far the most refreshing fruit of all time. Nothing beats a massive slice bought at a festival or farmer’s market or the like. Yum.
Love your sunnies and scarf! Super cute. Hope you’re having a brilliant day!
Love the eggplant/hummacole!
One interesting way to eat watermelon – sprinkle it with salt – much sweeter, although less hydrating.
Like you, I’d prefer the heat over cold days. It’s still hot and humid here in Japan.
Soaking in a cold bath for half an hour during the weekends is how I escape from the heat. Also, I cut up fresh fruits (bananas, grapes, peaches, and mangoes) and freeze them. Easy, healthy, cooling snacks.
Your pictures are all so fun!! My boyfriend and I tried to use our central air last night for the first time all summer and discovered it was broken!! We have a ton of fans in our apartment.
I love hot weather. It def still feels like summer here in Oklahoma and I love it.
